Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR)

This program works with and complements other campus programs to provide resources for campus researchers to learn about RCR and to encourage growth of a campus-wide culture of responsible conduct. Through participating in programs, researchers can learn to apply ethical reasoning skills to ethical dilemmas in their work lives.

Nine Core Areas of RCR A minimum set of topics defined by the National Institutes of Health.
1. Animal welfare
2. Collaborative science
3. Conflict of interest and commitment
4. Data acquisition, management, sharing and ownership
5. Human subjects
6. Mentor/trainee responsibilities
7. Peer review
8. Publication practices and responsible authorship
9. Research misconduct
