Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) Facility - Overview

The SoLS EPR facility primarily serves the needs of ASU faculty and research staff, about evenly divided between SoLS and he Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Off-campus, academic scientists make fairly extensive use of the EPR Lab as well. Scheduling is handled by Dr. LoBrutto at 480-965-9037. Experiments employing liquid nitrogen or those performed at ambient temperature can generally be done on a few days’ to I week’s notice. Those employing liquid helium (i.e.below about 90 K). can involve 1-3 weeks waiting time. This is due to the necessity of grouping liquid helium experiments to save money and time.

Users who plan to be using the lab on a daily or weekly basis may request instruction in instrument operation in continuous wave (CW) mode, and in unusual cases, in pulsed mode operation. More commonly, both the user and the Lab Director are present during the experiment. This does not affect the cost of using the Lab.
