Recycling

A new University wide recycling program has been implemented.

Please see the following website for information on what to recycle and how:

Useful Information:

New program details

Just as your desk side and office trash cans are currently emptied by custodial staff, your desk side and 23 gallon recycling bins will be emptied by them as well. For right now, trash will be emptied three times a week and recycling will be emptied twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday. Depending on the volume, recycling may be increased to three times a week and trash reduced to twice a week but that will be determined by the custodial staff in your area. Trash in bathrooms and kitchens will still be removed every day. If you have food waste you’d like to discard, please use the trash cans in the bathroom or kitchen/break room areas.

Drink It Or Sink It – Join Your Peers In Recycling Liquid-free Containers Only!

In an effort to save money, reduce contamination of our recyclables, and keep garbage and recycling containers cleaner, please consume/use all of the liquids in beverage containers or empty them into a kitchen or bathroom sink. The reduction in liquids is also extremely helpful to custodial staff and members of the recycling crew who have to handle the garbage and recycling containers.

Please Note: When placing cardboard (boxes) outside of your office or lab it would be helpful to the custodial staff if you flatten the boxes

For questions, concerns or if you notice a container in need of immediate service, please notify Rick Olson at (480) 965–5087 Rick Olson, SOLS Recycling Coordinator so he can request a special pick up.

Thank you for your outstanding support of recycling!
