Research

  • improving our knowledge on bacterial diversity using a combination of traditional and molecular techniques for community analysis
  • physiological and behavioral adaptations that allow microorganisms to thrive under extreme conditions such as exposure to UV radiation, high concentrations of salt or prolonged desiccation.
  • Study mechanisms of carbonate formation and destruction by microbes.
