Ken Hoober received a Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry from the University of Michigan in 1965 and then spent postdoctoral periods at Vanderbilt University and the Rockefeller University. He held faculty appointments at Rutgers University Medical School and Temple University School of Medicine before coming to Arizona State University in 1991 to become Chair of the Department of Plant Biology. He has retired from his faculty position and continues work as a Research Professor.
