Graduate Application Information for International Students Thank you for your interest in graduate studies in the School of Life Sciences at Arizona State University (ASU). We hope that your previous educational background, experience in science, and achievements will exceed the minimal requirements for admission into our degree programs. Our admissions standard in English proficiency is a minimal score of 600 paper or 250 computer on the TOEFL examination. General and Subject GRE scores and percentiles are evaluated competitively with other applicants. The minimum undergraduate GPA for the last 60 semester hours of course work must be above 3.0 (based on a 4.0 scale). It is important that you are fully aware that financial assistance from the Graduate College or the School of Life Sciences is rarely offered to international students during their first year at ASU. Financial assistance offered after one year is based on English proficiency and satisfactory performance in research and coursework. If financial assistance is available during the first year, it most likely will be from individual faculty members with whom the applicants have been in direct correspondence. We hope that you can meet our admission standards,
and if accepted into one of our degree programs, are able to meet the
financial guarantee required by the U.S. Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration
Services (required dollar amount information available on the Financial Guarantee form) to cover your expenses during
your proposed period of study. Mexican Applicants: Please visit the CONACYT
website for funding information.
