Integrative Graduate Education in the Life Sciences

Research in the life sciences is becoming increasingly interdisciplinary as traditional disciplines combine to provide new and novel approaches to solving complex biological and social problems. The Integrative Graduate Education in the Life Sciences (iGELS) Program provides a framework in which to train students in a way that nurtures interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research and incorporates faculty whose research programs span the life, social and physical sciences.

The iGELS program consists of a series of Research Focus Areas, which forms the basis for a student's research training leading to Graduate Degrees in Biology, Microbiology, Molecular and Cellular Biology, or Plant Biology.
