Welcome
The School of Life Sciences is a broad collection of faculty and students engaged in cutting-edge research across the spectrum of biological sciences. We take pride in our disciplinary strengths as well as our interdisciplinary research and training opportunities. Life science research in the 21st century will bring exciting leaps in our understanding of how genes and the environment, evolution and development shape the functions of molecules, cells, brains, organisms, behaviors, ecosystems and societies, as well as the conceptual and social foundations of science.
We are pleased to offer a diverse menu for graduate training that is largely tailored to students’ individual interests and backgrounds. Our faculty members typically participate more than one PhD and MS degree program. PhD students in SOLS receive a minimum of four years guaranteed funding through research and teaching fellowships
We invite you to explore the links describing our major areas of research, potential faculty mentors, and the degree offerings for graduate students in the School of Life Sciences.
