The Faculty of Ecology, Evolution, and Environmental Science performs research and provides training in the ecology, evolution and behavior of organisms, the diversity and systematic relationships among species and change in these relationships through time, and the responses of organisms and ecological systems to human activity and environmental change. Graduate studies in the School of Life Sciences in ecology focus on the Environmental Life Sciences (ELS) degree program but can also involve the Biology, Plant Biology, and Microbiology graduate programs with a concentration in ecology. Research interests of the faculty include ecology at levels of organisms, populations, communities, and ecosystems, physiological ecology, behavior, biodiversity, landscape ecology, restoration ecology, conservation biology, evolutionary biology, and phylogenetics/systematics.
