Undergraduate Research Poster Symposium 2000
Welcome to UBEP 2000!
Arizona State University presented the Seventh Annual Undergraduate Research Poster Symposium on Friday, February 4, 2000. All undergraduates conducting research in the life sciences were invited to attend and present a poster. A total of 73 posters were displayed throughout the day in the Life Science Center exhibiting the diversity of original research being conducted by ASU's life science undergraduates. Mary Woolley, President of Research!America, gave the keynote speach. Following Ms. Woolley's address, students were at their posters to discuss their projects and answer questions. The poster session highlights the Undergraduate Biology Enrichment Program (UBEP), which is among ASU's efforts to improve undergraduate education. Both the poster symposium and students funded through the Biology Research Experience for Undergraduates (BREU) are sponsored by Howard Hughes Medical Institute grants to the Biology Department at ASU.
