Undergraduate Research Poster Symposium 2001

Welcome to UBEP 2001!

Arizona State University presented the Eighth Annual Undergraduate Research Poster Symposium on Friday, February 2, 2001. All undergraduates conducting research in the life sciences were invited to attend and present a poster. Franklyn Prendergast, Professor and Director of the Mayo Cancer Center, Rochester Mayo gave the keynote speech. Following Dr. Prendergast's address, students were at their posters to discuss their projects and answer questions. The poster session highlights the Undergraduate Biology Enrichment Program (UBEP), which is among ASU's efforts to improve undergraduate education. Both the poster symposium and students funded through the Biology Research Experience for Undergraduates (BREU) are sponsored by Howard Hughes Medical Institute grants to the Biology Department at ASU.
