Arizona State University will present the Ninth Annual Undergraduate Research Poster Symposium on Friday, February 1, 2002. All undergraduates conducting research in the life sciences are invited to attend and present a poster. Judith Ramaley, Assistant Director of the National Science Foundation's Directorate of Education and Human Resources, will give the keynote speech. Following Ms. Ramaley's address, students will be at their posters to discuss their projects and answer questions. The poster session highlights the Undergraduate Biology Enrichment Program (UBEP), which is among ASU's efforts to improve undergraduate education. Both the poster symposium and students funded through the Biology Research Experience for Undergraduates (BREU) are sponsored by Howard Hughes Medical Institute grants to the Biology Department at ASU.
