Concentration in Ecology and Evolution

Roadmap Link

Checksheet 2007-08

The Concentration in Ecology and Evolution provides training in the ecology, evolution and behavior of organisms, the diversity and systematic relationships among species and change in these relationships through time, and the responses of organisms and ecological systems to human activity and environmental change. Evolution forms the foundation for understanding everything in biological sciences, while ecology examines the interaction of organisms with their environment. The concentration in Biological Sciences with a Concentration in Ecology and Evolution consists of a minimum of 40 semester hours in required life science courses, and a minimum of 16 semester hours in related fields, a three-semester-hour statistics course, plus a three-semester-hour advanced mathematics course included in the General Studies Requirement. A minimum grade of “C” (2.00) is required in all course work in the major and related fields. Required courses are as follows:

Core requirements (15 credits):
BIO 187 General Biology (4)
