Biography

Federica Turriziani Colonna obtained her Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from Sapienza University of Rome (Italy) in 2010. She then obtained a Master's degree in Science Communication from Ecole Normale Superieure de Cachan (France) and a Master's degree in Philosophy of Science from Sapienza University of Rome in 2012.

Federica works as an Editorial Associate at the Center for Biology and Society, ASU, where she also pursues a PhD in History and Philosophy of Science.

Her doctoral research focuses on the history of the Trieste Zoological Station (1875-1915).

Research Interests

Federica works on the history of the Trieste Zoological Station. Federicas research aims to understand how the research projects carried out at the Trieste Zoological Station between 1875 and 1915 impacted biology at the turn of the nineteenth century and how they helped establish marine biology as a discipline.
