OMNIBUS – undergraduate research, ATA, thesis
Omnibus numbers are used for courses offered on an experimental or tutorial basis or for courses in which the content is new or changing. Please refer to the class list link for more information about class options for this study. Credit hours have some flexibility, but the university requires students to perform 45 hours of contact work for each academic credit.

This course is an individualized study in conjunction with a professor. The curriculum is agreed upon by the professor and student. Please note, not more than 6 credit hours of individualized study can be used towards any major degree requirements.

See the link for class list for further information about what is available.

  1. Speak to a professor about entering into the agreement for an OMNIBUS course and develop a plan for what that will look like in conjunction with that professor.
  2. Be prepared to provide a brief description of the project as well as the items you will do to earn the credit hours. This description will be in 6100 characters or less (approximately 1 page of single spaced New Times Roman, 10 point font)
  3. Activate the DocuSign agreement below, complete and sign. (Please note that students are required to sign the form, send it to the professor, and the form will be sent BACK to the student to initial before being sent to the advising office for approval.) A copy of the form will be sent to the listed professor for his/her signature and a finalized copy will be sent to SOLS advising for approval.
  4. If you do not receive confirmation from DocuSign that the form was signed by the professor, it will be your responsibility to follow-up with the professor. (Please be aware that Docusign sends automated messages that may end up in spam/junk mail folders).

NOTE: For students wanting to enroll in MBB 495, you must receive approval of your research area from Dr. Tsafrir Mor, Dr. Hugh Mason, or Dr. Wim Vermaas. Any one of these faculty can email our office directly to approve your research, or you may forward us their written permission.

If you have further questions concerning how to enroll in this course, please contact advising for assistance by emailing sols.advising@asu.edu.
