Why did you join the SOLUR program?
I decided to join the SOLUR program to further develop my research and scientific communication skills in a very focused and small group.
What skills have you developed?
I have learned how to communicate my research in simple terms so that even a general non-scientific audience can understand. I have also learned valuable scientific writing skills such as how to create an abstract, an introduction, a presentation, and how to make a poster.
What is exciting to you about the SOLUR program?
I really enjoy learning how to write about our research and present it to a general audience. Communicating research effectively is a very important skill to have and I appreciate the opportunity to create posters and present at the Undergraduate Research Symposium.
So far, what is your favorite experience as an ASU student?
I think being in the midst of all the craziness in the dorms freshman year was one of my favorite experiences. I met so many of my friends and had a great time adjusting to being on my own in college.
What are your plans after graduation?
I plan on going to medical school. Basically, I am hoping to become a freshman all over again as a first-year medical student.
