SOLUR is a supplemental experience to their work in the research lab or course-based undergraduate research experience. We try to enhance their experience by helping them develop research-related skills they need but might not be learning in the lab.

For example, while they may collect data in the lab, mentors might not have the time to teach them how to write a results paragraph or create a scientific poster. That’s where SOLUR comes in. We’ve also had modules on talk about career and professional development, networking, transferable skills, scientific communication, etc.

If they’d like to be part of SOLUR, a student just needs to complete this form. We can then open the class once we’ve verified they have a lab position.
