Join us for a screening of “Please Stand By” (2017). The film portrays a young autistic woman following her passion to submit a script to a Star Trek script-writing contest. This adventure opens questions concerning how people interact to support and hinder each other and how society works, or fails, people with a range of cognitive abilities. Enjoy the humorous story of a road trip with a small dog in a Star Trek sweater and consider the larger questions in discussion with an expert panel.
Panelists:
James Adams, President’s Professor, School for Engineering of Matter, Transport and Energy
Sara Brownell, President’s Professor, School of Life Sciences
Erin Rotheram-Fuller, Associate Professor, Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation
