Next steps
Welcome to the School of Life Sciences and congratulations on your recent program admission. Please review the steps and links below to enroll and register for your courses. If you have any questions, please contact the SOLS Graduate Office at sols.grad@asu.edu.
Step 1: Activate your ASU student account (MyASU and ASURITE)
- To activate your ASURITE User ID, click here. You will need to wait until you receive your official notification from ASU Graduate Education to complete this step.
Step 2: Set up your ASU student email
- Email will be the primary means of communication (ASU Email Policy). It is required that you use and check your ASU Email on a daily basis. Click here for ASU student email instructions including how to make sure your email is forwarding properly.
Step 3: Monitor and complete priority tasks
- Complete immunization paperwork as described on your My ASU priority tasks.
- Keep an eye on your priority tasks for other actionable items, like submitting final transcripts, uploading documents to obtain an I-20 (international students), and more.
Step 4: Register for classes
- Discuss coursework with your faculty advisor if applicable to confirm any coursework they advise you take given your research topic and projects. If you are not in a program where you have a thesis or dissertation faculty advisor, consult the SOLS Graduate Office for any coursework guidance you may require.
- Review your program's page on this site and/or the SOLS handbook to ensure you understand your program requirements.
- Schedule an advising appointment as needed. The SOLS Graduate Office is always happy to help!
Step 5: Explore and apply for financial aid and other funding
- It is best to contact financial aid directly for specific financial aid questions and guidance.

Step 6: Pay tuition and fees
- View payment deadlines here.
- If you are hired as an RA or TA or are receiving some other award from the School of Life Sciences, your awards may not post until after the semester has started. We will always ensure it posts before the tuition payment deadline so please be patient and contact us if it is close to the deadline and hasn't posted yet.
