If you are in an on campus PhD program or an on campus MS program requiring a thesis, then you must defend your dissertation or thesis in person. Part of the process in scheduling your defense is reserving a room to hold it in. It is important to confirm room availability and ensure a space can be reserved as part of your process to finalize a day and time with your committee. The SOLS graduate office is here to provide support in booking a room!
SOLS rooms
Please note this information is for booking a room controlled by SOLS only, so if you wish to reserve a room elsewhere (e.g., Biodesign), you would need to contact folks in those buildings to inquire about room reservations. Please refer to the SOLS controlled rooms below.

How to book a room
If you would like to discuss room options and availability before talking to your committee, please reach out to your respective academic advisor (PhD students: Gillian Rodriguez; MS students: Jackie Schisler) for assistance. If you already know the date and time you'd like to reserve a room, please fill out the room reservation request form linked below. To increase the likelihood of availability to book, we ask that you reserve your room at least 4 weeks in advance of the date you wish to defend. If there is an availability issue with your request, we will reach out to let you know, as this may require changing your defense date, time, or desired location.
